God is Everywhere!

Over the weekend, God has been showing up in discussion everywhere. The Muslim God has come out and asked for the blood of 1,000's to be shed because the Holy Mosques are being tainted and disrespected. The Hindu God(s) came out in Jakarta and stated once and for all, that no man shall touch a woman's underfoot until he has 'made her with child.' <--Strangely, this is out of reverence. The Buddhist ( God?) stood peacefully by while 6 of his monks were slaughtered by extremists after 60 Muslims suffocated on their way to prison in the Philippines.
The Christian God is showing up in Wisconsin, commanding that children be taught that God created the earth, not how mind you, but just shut up and know that he did.
The Christian God is also showing up in Texas schoolbooks, extolling the virtues of abstinence and avoiding premarital sex.
So, let me illustrate this one point to you, from an academic point of view: Many people think the Bible says that sex outside of marriage is a sin. But the bible is unclear. In Exodus, chapter 20, (The Ten Commandments), we are told you should not commit adultery. Adultery is not defined as having sex outside of marriage. It is defined as having sex with a married person. Nothing is said prohibiting sexual relations between two unmarried people. In fact, in Leviticus we are given a list of every situation in which we should not have sex. We're not to have sex with married people, with family members, or with animals. We are not prohibited from having sex with an unmarried person who is not in our family. There is mention of "Fornication" as being a sin in a small amount of texts. Some wrongly interpret that to mean sex outside of marriage. That is not true. The greek translation identifies fornication as being any "illicit (illegal) sexual activity." But, also in Leviticus, the bible does not mention sex between two unmarried people as being illicit. In fact, we read where some of God's greatest leaders, such as King David (who God called a man"after his own heart"), had hundreds of wives and hundreds of unmarried concubines (women kept in the house for the purpose of sex). None of these were considerd sins. It is only when David had sex with another man's wife that he committed the sin of adultery.
Why do I tell you all of this? The point is that religion is not a teaching of education. This is only one example. I could show you how 'virgin' is not the translated word for what Mary (Jesus' Mother) was. But you knew that one right? The Bible and it's teaching are as flawed as the men who wrote, edited and published them. It is a teaching of belief and of opinion. Mainly that of the monks and the high Vatican officials who chose what your Bible will and will not say. The Bible is not right. It's just not. Most people don't even know who wrote the scriptures they quote, when they were written or in what language, when or even by whom they were translated! We don't know what God's rule is. We Don't. There is no God. But there may be. You may believe there is a God, or have faith there is a God. But you DO NOT KNOW. I DO NOT KNOW. THEY DO NOT KNOW. Sorry, you don't. The sky is not blue, but it is. But in fact, it is not blue.
Teach your children whatever you think is right; just take the Bible out of the schools. That is the beauty with education, it is about finding the truth, the meaning and what deeper meaning may pertain to us. What could be more Christian? The Bible is not a text book, it was not meant as one. My last thought: For those of you who hold the Bible to be the annointed word of god, being mystical and blessed, that the name alone is so revered, we are to show it respect....
Definition: Bible, the English form of the Greek name _Biblia_, meaning "books,"
It's just "Books" folks. bible.
