Jimi, Dimebag. Dimebag meet Jimi.

This blows. I am pissed off. "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was killed last night. Full story. As a person, a human being that shares this earth with others, I am crushed. Not just by 'his' murder, but by murder itself. That is another story entirely.
Dimebag was a brilliant guitarist, best known for starting and leading Pantera. He was wild, he loved Hockey, he rocked and he loved Jager. Good guy in my book. But we shared something else. He founded a group he would later leave to ruin itself under the egos of those who tried to trade on the name and reputation he created. He left with no money, no ties and never looked back. The guys in his band blamed him and so did his fans. It appears this incident may have been connected to that. A fan, a groupie, a roadie, a former bandmate's friend may have been the shooter. Don't be surprised if it is.
I was basted and broiled for leaving the group I created and helped build. It freaked me out the way people were treating me and acting. After I left there were threats, there were scary moments and thank God it never got to this. I hope he finds peace in the next journey. I know he followed his heart in what he did. For that, I respect him more. Raise a Jager for Darrell.
In other news: Hey go check out Bloggermann . It is a blog by my favorite broadcast journalist, Keith Olbermann. Many sports fans would remember him from ESPN Sportscenter, others ...well you probably wouldn't know him at all. The thing is, he is one of the smartest men I have ever heard opine. I never disagree with him; because he is fair, even-minded and most of all guided by truth. Not his truth, not yours, just truth. Now, we could certainly debate the Aristotle definition of truth itself, but you know what I mean. Accepted Truth. Anyway, he is the only journalist following the Ohio Recount and it is worth watching what will happen.
My good friends, Kris and Gabi are having their second child soon. I wish them all of the magic in the world for this child.
